The Premi Ramon Llull is for Víctor Amela

La filla del capità Groc is “a romantic story for the time, because it happens in the XIX century, because of the scenery, because of the Morella and Maestrazgo ports and the main characters”, says the author.

The writer and journalist Víctor Amela has been proclaimed winner of the XXXVI Premi Ramon Llull with “La filla del capità Groc”, a novel that’s a mix of romantic and historic based in the area of Maestrazgo in the time of the Carlists War. The books talks about an event Amela lived when he was eight in the town where he spent his summers, Forcall (ports), the same where the main character of the novel, el Groc, fought in 1840 to defend carlist ideals. “My goal was to turn a very local hero into a universal one”, explained the journalist and writer. The prize is of 60000 euros and it’s the most famous in Catalan language.

The Premi Ramon Llull will be in book stores next march with Planeta.
