ICHIGO ICHIE: press release
Ichigo Ichie, the new Japanese concept that will change our lives, by the authors who have sold more than 1.500.000 copies and have set a worldwide trend with their previous book.
In March 2018, in the middle of the London Book Fair, 40 international publishers were invited to a London’s Japanese tea shop in the Soho district, to discover the title of the new book by Francesc Miralles and Héctor García, the authors of the best seller IKIGAI: the Japanese secrets for a long and happy life. This is how the authors introduced the new Japanese trend that would become the central axis of their new project.
In their new book, they discover a concept of ancestral origin that will transform the lives of millions of readers: Ichigo Ichie teaches us that every moment of our lives, like a tea ceremony, is something unique that will never be repeated.
Ichigo-Ichie is an inspirational work that will teach us, among many other things, to free ourselves from the past and the future in order to make each moment unique, to integrate into our lives the Zen that Steve Jobs learned from a Japanese master and that was the key to his success, as well as to create unforgettable encounters and to improve our relationships both personally and professionally with a new kind of Mindfulness.
This Japanese expression that is present in the traditional tea rooms, Ichigo-Ichie, was first used half a millennium ago by the creator of the tea ceremony, and can be translated as: “What we are going to live here will never be repeated again”. The new book by Francesc Miralles and Héctor Garcia, pioneer around the world, explores how we can become moment hunters to make every moment memorable and leave a mark for life.
International publishers have trusted Francesc Miralles and Héctor García again after Ikigai’s worldwide success. Ichigo Ichie had already 17 translations before being launched in Spain on 14th February.
Ikigai has sold more than 1,500,000 copies worldwide, has been translated into 44 languages, and has reached number 1 in the UK, Japan, Turkey, Italy, Holland and Spain, and made it on the LA Times best-selling list. It has numerous reeditions in many of the countries where it has been published and has been in the news several times in countries such as Holland, where it has 29 editions, Turkey, where it sold 100,000 copies in 1 month or the USA, where it has been highly recommended by great influencers such as Marie Kondo, Chris Evans and Oprah Winfrey and has 9 editions.
The book will also be published in Catalan on 6t March with the Catalan Encyclopedia publishing house.
